A new sticker every year

Everything in the left column is what the guide is. Verified adds to a profile; it never changes what we say about a place.
Recommendation is editorial. Verified is participation.
Joining never affects whether a coffee spot is included, how it is described, how strongly it is recommended, or where it sits in a guide.
That is not something we ask you to take on trust. Participation is stored apart from editorial data, it is invisible to the code that measures recommendations, and it is invisible to the code that orders the guide. We cannot mark a café as "unverified" — there is no such thing. Verified is a fact about participation, recorded only when it is true.
The editorial firewall
Cafés can help keep their profiles accurate and alive. They cannot buy their way onto the map. This is the line we don't cross. It's what makes CoffeeSpots useful for the people reading it, and credible for the cafés listed on it.
What you can and cannot change
You can update factual information: hours, address, website, roasters used, photos. You can tell us about changes to your coffee program.
You cannot change your recommendation count, edit the editorial descriptions, or pay to appear on the guide. Those are ours to maintain.
Why Verified exists
Keeping CoffeeSpots accurate and alive is ongoing work — checking that a place still opens, that the roaster still changes, that a photograph still looks like the room. Verified cafés take part in that care. Their support keeps profiles current, pays for original work, and lets us keep documenting local coffee culture city by city.

Questions
- Does Verified affect recommendations?
- No. It is stored apart from editorial data and is invisible to the code that measures or orders anything.
- Can any coffee spot join?
- Only coffee spots already published on CoffeeSpots. Verified is participation, not a way in.
- We have several locations.
- Each profile is its own place. Join from the page of the one you mean.
- What if we stop?
- The mark and the sticker are for that year. Nothing about the editorial profile changes.
- When does the sticker arrive?
- We post it once your profile is set up.
- Can we update our details whenever something changes?
- Yes — and so can anyone, free, at any time. Suggest an update.
